Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Luminous, a managed website platform operated by Phronema Labs.
Last updated 16 October 2026
1. Who these terms are between
Luminous is operated by Phronema Labs ("we", "us", "our"). These terms are a binding agreement between us and the business or person subscribing to Luminous ("you", "your"). By creating an account, submitting a brief, or paying a subscription, you accept these terms.
If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company, and "you" means that company.
2. What the service is
Your subscription includes:
- A generated website. We build your site from the brief you supply, using the Luminous template system and automated content generation. See the AI content disclosure for how that content is produced and what we do and do not promise about it.
- Hosting and delivery. Your site is served from our infrastructure. You do not need to buy, configure, or maintain hosting.
- A content management system. A login that lets you edit your pages, media, blog, and business details without touching code.
- Maintenance and updates. Platform changes, security updates, and template improvements are applied for you. There are no plugins for you to update.
What the subscription does not include: search engine ranking positions, advertising management, guaranteed lead volume, email hosting, or custom software development beyond the scope agreed in writing.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
- You are responsible for keeping your login secure. Access is by single-use magic link sent to your email address, so the security of that mailbox is the security of your account.
- You must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authority.
- One subscription covers one website and one business, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
4. Fees, billing, and renewal
- The service is billed as a recurring subscription. The amount and billing period are shown on the order form or product page you subscribe through, and that is the amount that applies to you.
- Payment is taken in advance for each billing period, through our payment processor.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal.
- If a payment fails, we will attempt it again and notify you. If it remains unpaid, we may suspend your site. We will not delete your content without telling you first.
- We may change the price of the service. If we do, we will tell you in advance before your next renewal, and you may cancel rather than accept the new price.
5. 7-Day money-back guarantee
The public pages of this website state: "7-Day Guarantee — Not happy in the first week? Full refund, no questions asked." That is a commitment, and this section is where it is written down. Where anything on this page appears to conflict with it, the guarantee prevails.
What it covers. If you tell us within seven days of your first payment that you are not happy, we will refund that payment in full. That includes any one-off setup fee charged with it. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.
How to claim it. Email [email protected] from the address on your account, within the seven days, and say that you would like the refund. We will process it to the original payment method. Card networks then take their own time to post it, typically five to ten business days.
What happens to the site. A refund ends the subscription. Unless you ask us to keep it, the website we built for you is taken down and your content is deleted after the usual retention period (see section 7). Your domain remains yours either way. If you would like to keep the site, ask us — we would rather find a way to keep working with you than take a site down.
Automatic renewal does not override this. The renewal terms above apply from the second billing period onward. The guarantee applies to your first payment, whether or not a renewal has already been scheduled.
What it does not cover. Payments made after the first seven days, and renewals. Those are covered by the cancellation terms above: cancelling stops future renewals, and we do not refund a period that has already been used. If a failure is ours and the service was not delivered, that is not a guarantee question — tell us and we will put it right.
6. Your content and your domain
You own your content. Text, images, logos, and documents you supply, and the content we generate for you, are yours. We claim no ownership over them.
You own your domain. If you bring a domain, it stays registered in your name and under your control. If you ask us to register one for you, we will register it in your name wherever the registrar allows, and it remains yours.
You grant us a licence to operate the service. By supplying content, you give us permission to store, copy, and display it for the purpose of building and running your site. That licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems.
You confirm that you hold the rights to everything you upload, or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
7. Leaving, and what you take with you
You may cancel at any time. When you do, we will help you leave with what is yours. On request we provide an export of your content and your media. Your domain remains yours.
After cancellation we keep your content for a limited period so a cancellation can be reversed, then delete it. If you want the export, ask for it while your subscription is active or during that period.
8. Acceptable use
Your use of the service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: use it for a legitimate business, do not use it to deceive people, break the law, or harm others.
9. Availability
We aim to keep your site available at all times and we work to fix faults quickly. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service depends on third-party infrastructure, and planned or emergency maintenance can cause brief interruptions.
10. Our responsibilities and limits
We will provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost business opportunity.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of content generated automatically from your brief, for how search engines rank your site, or for third-party services you connect to it. You are responsible for reviewing your site before it goes live.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Suspension and termination by us
We may suspend or end your access if:
- you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- we are required to by law, or by a legitimate request from an authority;
- your use puts our infrastructure or other customers at risk;
- payment remains outstanding after we have notified you.
Except where the problem is serious or urgent, we will tell you what is wrong and give you a reasonable chance to put it right.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will notify you before it takes effect and you may cancel rather than accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Phronema Labs is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless mandatory local consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
